Repairing a chip with epoxy putty

Picture
You need:

  • A knife
  • Epoxy putty
  • A dash of water
  • Work surface,  a thick plastic document file is fine.
Picture
Take equal amounts of putty from each container. Mix between fingertips thoroughly.
Picture
Fill the chip, pushing well in. Try not to spread over the glaze. Scrape off excess putty.
Picture
Smooth the surface of the putty using your finger dipped in water.

Clean and dry the piece thoroughly. If you leave any trace of the putty water, it will be difficult to clean when it sets.

You can sand and polish using wet and dry sandpaper when the putty sets completely.

Apply urushi and metallic powder. *See page  “Applying Urushi & Metallic Powder”.
